Water safety is at the heart of everything I teach, which is why I’m proud to hold my American Red Cross Swim Safety certification. This training focuses on building strong water safety habits, teaching age-appropriate skills, and helping swimmers develop confidence both in and around the water. From first splashes to growing independence in the pool, I’m committed to helping every swimmer learn skills that can last a lifetime — all while keeping smiles just as important as swim strokes!

I earned my AngelFish Adaptive Swim Whisperers® certification, a specialized program focused on working with children of all abilities, including swimmers with sensory, physical, cognitive, and developmental differences. This training allows me to create personalized, compassionate lessons that meet each child where they are, while making learning fun, encouraging, and stress-free. Every swimmer deserves the chance to build confidence in the water — and maybe even have a few giggles along the way!

We began using Melissa's Swim School in 2022 shortly after our 2nd child had a medical event that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Still unsure of his disability and very insecure of most things at this time, he decided he really wanted to join his siblings at swim lessons. Melissa made it effortless and comfortable for him and he gained a love of water. The patience, understanding, sense of humor and love she puts into her contact with any child is nothing short of amazing. She also helped me, as a parent, overcome my fear of water after watching a traumatic event as a child.
